In honor of Climate Week NYC 2023 last week, we’re sharing some of our favorite things to do in NYC while being mindful of the environment and making the most of your visit!
NYC is a great city for walking. You'll get to know the city better while producing zero emissions and making the most of every step!
Biking is a fun and eco-friendly way to see the city. Programs like Citi Bike offer bike rentals all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens.
NYC not only has an extensive subway and bus network but NYC Ferry and the Staten Island Ferry offer an alternative to the usual options.. Skip taxis to minimize your carbon footprint.
Opt for eco-tourism experiences like walking tours of the city's parks or visiting natural reserves, which are usually managed with sustainability in mind.
Choosing to move outside of the city center can support sustainable travel in several ways including reduced crowding and overtourism, supporting local economies, lowering your carbon footprint, purchasing local food and products and preserving local cultures.
